Nestled in the serene countryside of Galax, Virginia, Sobrius offers residential treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions including trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. The center distinguishes itself with a cohort model where 10-16 residents progress through the 30-day program together in gender-specific housing. This approach fosters strong bonds as clients share daily activities, meals, workshops, and meditation, creating a supportive community that enhances recovery outcomes and often leads to lasting friendships. Sobrius takes a holistic approach to healing the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Their evidence-based curriculum combines individual therapy sessions with trauma-specific treatments, 12-Step recovery principles, life skills development, and educational components.
