Emergency Meal Units, part of the Good News Community Kitchen in Reston, VA, is dedicated to providing urgent food assistance to families facing food insecurity. Our program delivers essential dry goods to ensure that basic nutritional needs are met during times of crisis. Each emergency meal unit contains a 1-pound bag of rice, two cans of beans, and a 1-pound package of whole grain oats—carefully selected to support families during their time of need. We invite local families experiencing food scarcity to complete our online form to request an emergency meal unit. Once registered, eligible families will receive these vital meal kits on a bi-weekly basis, with a valid state-issued identification required for verification. Together, we strive to alleviate hunger and restore dignity within our community.
