About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Barre, VT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, powered by Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system by training and empowering Fellows. Our program offers hands-on, experiential learning focused on organic food system education and advocacy, with no tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all. Over a transformative six-month residential experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows will engage in diverse activities, including growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy. Our Fellows also gain the opportunity to collaborate with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year, applying their knowledge to enhance community food access, support farmers markets, and coach the next generation of leaders in food systems. Applications are open until March for the fellowship that typically runs from May to October.
