The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Brandon, VT, is dedicated to empowering individuals through comprehensive training and hands-on experience in creating a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic integrity. This fellowship offers a tuition-free program to promote inclusivity, allowing chosen Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education. Participants engage in diverse activities, from cultivating and distributing crops on a market farm to implementing innovative health educational sessions. They also work on maintaining community gardens, fostering food and ecological literacy in schools, supporting local farmers' markets, and enhancing access to healthy foods through strategic distribution channels. Over six months of experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows apply their new skills in collaboration with regional non-profits, making tangible contributions to their communities. Applications are typically due by March for the program that runs from May to October each year.
