The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cambridge, VT, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through hands-on training and experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our Fellows gain vital skills in organic food system education without the barrier of tuition fees, enhancing accessibility for all. Throughout their six-month experiential residency, Fellows engage in working with community partners to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, maintain community and school gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy. They also support local farmers markets and develop distribution channels to ensure healthy food access for all. Following their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, fully integrating their learnings into impactful projects with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
