Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC)

Vermont Department of Health Cambridge, VT

About Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) in Cambridge, VT, is committed to fostering healthy food habits among low-income pregnant and postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Through our program, participants receive vital nutrition education, access to supplemental healthy foods, and strong support for breastfeeding. We also provide referrals to healthcare services to ensure families have the resources they need. In light of COVID-19, we have adapted our services to operate primarily by phone, minimizing in-person visits for safety. We realize that accessing certain WIC-approved foods can be difficult, so we have temporarily expanded our food list to include options for hard-to-find items and are diligently collaborating with local stores to maintain availability of WIC infant formula. Our mission centers on empowering families to thrive through nutrition and support.
