The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Castleton, VT cultivates a new generation of leaders committed to creating a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This hands-on program, backed by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides aspiring fellows with vital training and support without any tuition fees, making the fellowship accessible to all. Throughout the six-month experiential journey at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants receive comprehensive education in organic food systems and engage in meaningful initiatives such as growing diversified crops, implementing health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. After completing their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profits to amplify their impact and advocate for improved access to healthy food in the region. Applications are accepted until March of each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
