The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Highgate Center, VT, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Through our comprehensive, no-cost program, we empower selected Fellows with hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, emphasizing organic food system education. Our approach fosters critical partnerships, enabling Fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education sessions, and maintain community gardens. With a focus on enhancing food accessibility, our Fellows also support farmers markets, direct-to-consumer programs, and develop vital distribution channels for healthier food options. Throughout their six-month experiential training followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to drive social, environmental, and economic justice within local food systems. Applications are accepted until March, with the program commencing in May.
