The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Huntington, VT is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants to engage in hands-on, organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring broad accessibility. Over a six-month immersive residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows learn about diversified crop production, community gardening, and the importance of food and ecological literacy in schools. They also gain the skills to support farmers markets and develop innovative distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Following this experiential training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they collaborate with local non-profits to apply their learning, making impactful contributions to their communities. Applications for this transformative program are accepted until March each year for a seasonal experience running from May to October.
