The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hyde Park, VT, is dedicated to fostering a just food system by training and empowering the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture. Our program offers a transformative experience where selected Fellows engage in six months of hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. During this time, they gain invaluable knowledge in organic food system practices, working on initiatives like growing diversified crops, running educational health sessions, and maintaining community gardens. By promoting food and ecological literacy in schools and supporting farmers markets, our Fellows become advocates for increased access to healthy food within their communities. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge. We believe in inclusivity and accessibility, which is why our Fellowship is offered without tuition fees, making it more attainable for all dedicated individuals. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October.
