The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Jeffersonville, VT, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a food system that upholds social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship trains and empowers participants to become advocates and educators in sustainable food practices. With a focus on organic food system education, Fellows engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm, where they grow diverse crops, implement innovative community health education, and support local initiatives like farmers markets and community gardens. By eliminating tuition costs, we ensure that our program is accessible to all dedicated to making a positive impact. Over a six-month residential experience followed by a Community Action Year, selected Fellows apply their skills while collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to enhance food and ecological literacy. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, making it an urgent call for those eager to contribute to a healthier food network.
