The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) in Middlebury, VT, is dedicated to fostering healthy food practices among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Our mission is to ensure that families have access to essential nutrition education, supplemental foods, and resources for breastfeeding support, along with referrals for health care services. During these challenging times, we understand that accessing certain foods might be difficult, so WIC has temporarily expanded our food list to include more options for hard-to-find items, including WIC-approved infant formula. Although in-person visits are currently suspended due to COVID-19 precautions, our services remain readily available by phone, ensuring that we continue to support the nutritional needs of families in our community.
