About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Newport, VT, is committed to cultivating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Our program sponsors and empowers passionate individuals to serve as educators and advocates for sustainable agriculture. We provide a comprehensive, tuition-free experience where Fellows gain hands-on knowledge in organic food systems. Throughout their fellowship, participants engage in diverse projects, such as growing and distributing market-ready crops, implementing innovative educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. With a focus on enhancing access to healthy foods, our Fellows collaborate with local non-profits to support farmers markets, develop distribution channels, and mentor future participants. The six-month experiential study culminates in a Community Action Year, allowing fellows to put their training into practice within their communities.
