The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) in Newport, VT, is dedicated to fostering healthy nutrition among low-income pregnant and postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Our program offers vital services including nutrition education, supplemental food assistance, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare services. In response to the challenges presented by COVID-19, our services are currently conducted over the phone, ensuring the safety of our clients. WIC has also temporarily expanded our food options to include commonly hard-to-find items, and we are actively working with local stores to secure WIC-approved infant formula for our families.
