The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in North Clarendon, VT, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become knowledgeable advocates and educators within a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. At Allegheny Farm, our comprehensive program delivers hands-on organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Throughout this six-month immersiveness, participants actively engage in diverse agricultural practices, collaborate on innovative health initiatives, maintain community gardens, and integrate food literacy into educational settings. Additionally, Fellows contribute to enhancing farmers markets and improving access to healthy foods through partnerships with regional non-profit organizations. This transformative experience culminates in a Community Action Year where skills learned are put into practice to make a meaningful impact. Applications are due by March, with the program running from May to October each year.
