About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Northfield, VT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to empowering individuals to transform our food systems into models of social, environmental, and economic justice. Through this unique program, Fellows are offered a comprehensive, tuition-free education at the Allegheny Farm, where hands-on training aligns with community engagement efforts. Participants will cultivate diversified crops, manage community gardens, and lead initiatives that emphasize food and ecological literacy. Additionally, Fellows will have the opportunity to partner with regional non-profits to expand access to healthy foods, support farmers' markets, and mentor future cohorts. The Fellowship consists of an immersive six-month residential experience followed by a Community Action Year, enabling Fellows to effectively apply their learning and make a tangible impact in the community. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, welcoming those passionate about sustainable food systems and social equity.
