The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) in Orleans, VT, is dedicated to fostering healthy eating habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as enhancing the nutrition of infants and children up to five years old. Our mission includes providing vital nutrition education, supplemental foods, and comprehensive breastfeeding support, alongside essential health care referrals. In light of COVID-19, we are currently offering our services remotely to ensure continued access to support. We recognize the difficulties some have faced in obtaining WIC-approved foods, which is why we have temporarily expanded our food list to include additional options for hard-to-find items. Our commitment remains strong, partnering with local stores to ensure WIC infant formula is readily available, supporting families throughout the Orleans community.
