About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Based in Perkinsville, VT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship fosters a new generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system through hands-on training and education. This program empowers selected Fellows with comprehensive organic food system knowledge while promoting equity and access without the burden of tuition fees. Over six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in experiential learning that equips them to grow and distribute diverse crops, enhance community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into various educational settings. As they transition to the Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with local non-profits to implement innovative health care education, support farmers markets, and establish distribution channels that enhance access to nutritious foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the experience running from May to October, welcoming those committed to making a meaningful impact within their communities.
