The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Plainfield, VT, is dedicated to nurturing passionate individuals committed to transforming our food systems for a more just and sustainable future. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, our program equips fellows with the necessary skills to advocate for food systems that prioritize social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability. We offer a unique, tuition-free opportunity for fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education, engage with community partners to cultivate diverse crops, implement innovative health education initiatives, manage school and community gardens, and enhance food literacy in educational settings. Our fellows also support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer food programs while developing essential distribution channels to increase accessibility to healthy foods in their communities. This transformative journey includes six months on our experiential farm campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where fellows apply their training with local non-profits, amplifying their impact in regional food initiatives. Applications for the fellowship are accepted until March each year, with fellowship experiences running from May through October.
