About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Randolph Center, VT, is dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this immersive program offers transformative organic food system education without the burden of tuition, ensuring accessibility for all prospective Fellows. During their six-month residential experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, selected participants engage in hands-on learning and apply their knowledge through a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations. Fellows are involved in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, leading educational health sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. This fellowship not only cultivates individual growth but also fosters a stronger community food network, empowering participants to mentor future cohorts and promote access to healthy foods throughout the region.
