The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Shelburne, VT, nurtures the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food advocacy by providing comprehensive training without tuition barriers. This fellowship empowers individuals to engage deeply with a diverse array of projects, including organic food system education and the growth and distribution of crops through market-style farming. Fellows work hand-in-hand with community partners to implement innovative programs like educational health sessions, maintain gardens, and enhance food literacy in local schools. Additionally, they play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and developing strategies for increased access to healthy foods within the community. Over six months of immersive, hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a year dedicated to actionable community initiatives, prepares each Fellow to make a meaningful impact in food systems. Applications are open until March each year for the subsequent experience running from May to October.
