About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in South Royalton, VT, is dedicated to training and empowering passionate individuals to become advocates for a just food system. This transformative program, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides Fellows with a comprehensive education in organic food systems, enabling them to undertake meaningful community initiatives. With no tuition fees to ensure accessibility, selected Fellows participate in a six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to cultivate diverse crops, promote food and ecological literacy, and support local farmers markets. Following their residency, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their training while fostering healthy food access and sustainability in the community. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
