About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Vergennes, VT, we empower aspiring advocates and educators to transform our food systems into models of social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellowship offers a unique, tuition-free program that combines hands-on organic food system education with real-world experiences at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Over the course of six months, Fellows participate in intensive learning while growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating innovative health-related educational sessions, and managing school and community gardens. They also teach food ecology and literacy, support local farmers markets, and collaborate with community food coalitions. Our Fellows conclude their journey with a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with various regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, and the program runs from May to October, promoting accessibility and a commitment to better food accessibility for all.
