The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Vernon, VT, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become passionate advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program offers a hands-on, experiential education in organic food systems without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants will engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, facilitating innovative healthcare education, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Additionally, Fellows will contribute to farmers markets, develop channels for healthy food access, and support community food coalition efforts. Following an immersive six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows will enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills in collaboration with local non-profits. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
