About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Waterbury Center, VT, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. This unique program focuses on organic food system education, empowering participants to engage with community partners by growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms, implementing health-centered educational sessions, maintaining school and community gardens, and promoting food literacy. Fellows, selected for their passion and dedication, participate in a transformative six-month residential experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their learning with regional non-profit organizations. By providing this Fellowship without tuition costs, we ensure accessibility for all aspiring leaders in food assistance and agricultural sustainability. Applications are accepted until March for an enriching experience typically running from May through October.
