About Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC)
The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) in Waterbury Center, VT, is dedicated to fostering healthy food habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Our mission is to provide vital nutrition education, supplemental foods, and robust breastfeeding support, along with referrals to essential health care services. In light of recent challenges, we have expanded our food options to include some hard-to-find items, ensuring that families have access to the nutrition they need. For the safety of our participants during the ongoing pandemic, all services are now available by phone. We remain committed to supporting the health of our community’s mothers and children by working closely with local stores to maintain the availability of WIC-approved infant formula. Together, we can overcome obstacles to ensure every family is nourished and supported.
