About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Westford, VT, nurtures and empowers the next generation of food advocates through comprehensive training focused on building a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. This no-tuition program, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, offers selected Fellows an immersive six-month experiential study at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn about organic farming and community engagement. As part of their fellowship, participants grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational initiatives in healthcare, manage community gardens, and mentor future Fellows. Throughout the fellowship, they engage with local non-profits, enhancing food access and promoting ecological literacy. Applications are welcomed annually, with the Fellowship experience typically spanning from May to October.
