About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Williamstown, VT, is dedicated to cultivating a generation of leaders who advocate for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected members to immerse themselves in practical, hands-on education in organic food systems at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. With no tuition fees, we ensure that our program is accessible to all passionate individuals looking to create impactful change. Fellows engage in diverse activities, from growing and distributing crops to implementing innovative health care education and maintaining community gardens. They gain valuable skills in food and ecological literacy while supporting local farmers' markets and fostering community food initiatives. This immersive six-month experience is followed by a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their training in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Interested candidates are encouraged to complete their application by March, with the program running from May to October each year.
