The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Williston, VT, is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a just food system through hands-on training and education. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants to learn about the intersection of social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability within our food systems. Our program offers comprehensive organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. During their six-month immersive experience at Allegheny Farm, participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, conducting innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and fostering food literacy in educational settings. Additionally, Fellows support local farmers markets, enhance healthy food access, and develop community-based food initiatives. Following their training, they embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits. We welcome applications until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May through October.
