About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Winooski, VT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers aspiring advocates and educators through comprehensive training focused on creating a food system that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program, provided at no tuition cost, ensures accessibility for all participants, allowing them to gain invaluable experience in organic food systems. Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our facilities and collaborate with local partners to cultivate diversified crops, run community gardens, and enhance food education within schools. During their six-month immersion at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows will also support initiatives like farmers markets and food distribution channels, aiming to increase access to healthy food within the community. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where participants apply their skills alongside regional non-profits, fostering sustainable food practices and literacy. Applications are accepted annually until March, with the program running from May to October.
