The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) in Winooski, VT, is dedicated to fostering healthy nutrition for low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, along with infants and children up to five years of age. Our mission centers on providing vital nutrition education, supplemental foods, breastfeeding promotion, and essential referrals for healthcare services. In light of recent challenges, we have adapted our services to conduct consultations via phone to ensure continued support for our families. To better meet the needs of our community, we have expanded our food list temporarily to include a variety of options for hard-to-find items, and we are actively collaborating with local stores to maintain availability of WIC infant formula. By prioritizing the health and well-being of our participants, WIC is here to provide essential food assistance and support to those who need it most.
