The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bremerton, WA empowers individuals to advocate for a food system that promotes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows receive comprehensive training without any tuition fees, ensuring that the opportunity is accessible to all. This program focuses on educating participants about organic food systems while encouraging community engagement by partnering with local non-profits. Fellows will have the chance to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health education initiatives, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. By supporting farmers markets and developing distribution strategies for healthier food access, our Fellows play a vital role in fostering food sustainability. The Fellowship includes a six-month immersive learning experience followed by a Community Action Year, where participants apply their skills to make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, and the Fellowship runs from May to October.
