The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Edmonds, WA, empowers dedicated individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected participants to engage in six months of hands-on, experiential training at the Allegheny Farm, focusing on organic food system education. Through this program, Fellows will learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, facilitate health-centered educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in schools. They will also actively support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, develop channels for improved access to healthy foods, and engage in community food coalitions. Following their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills and knowledge in real-world scenarios. This fellowship is designed to be accessible, as it does not charge tuition, and applications are welcomed until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
