The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations provides specialized inpatient treatment for adolescents ages 13-17 struggling with substance use disorders. With a focus on Indigenous traditions and values, this CARF and Joint Commission accredited facility has been serving young people for over three decades. Treatment programs typically last 90-120 days, tailored to each teen's specific needs within a framework that honors cultural and spiritual connections. The comprehensive approach combines evidence-based clinical treatments with mental health counseling, substance use therapy, and on-site medical services. Adolescents participate in supportive programs including education, music, cultural activities, recreation, and nutrition services that foster creativity and personal development. Trauma-informed care forms the foundation of their approach, particularly important in their specialization treating Native youth by protecting cultural identities while addressing both generational and intergenerational trauma. Following residential treatment, individualized aftercare plans support teens transitioning back to their home environments, with continued outpatient services available through the on-campus Family & Wellness Health Clinic. Set on 51 acres in Spokane Valley, Washington, the facility features 45 beds in gender-specific wings, with comfortable rooms offering outside views. The grounds blend contemporary amenities like basketball courts, a baseball diamond, and obstacle course with traditional Native American elements including tipis, sweat lodges, and a Medicine Wheel, creating a healing environment that honors cultural heritage while supporting recovery.
