About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Arapahoe, WY, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. By sponsoring, training, and empowering Fellows, we advocate for a food system that is equitable and environmentally sound. Our program offers comprehensive organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm, emphasizing hands-on learning and community engagement. During their six-month residency, Fellows gain invaluable experience through initiatives such as growing and marketing diverse crops, conducting innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and fostering food literacy in schools. Each Fellow also contributes to local food access by supporting farmers markets and developing distribution channels for healthy foods. After their time on the farm, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and make a tangible impact in their communities. We believe in accessibility and do not charge tuition, ensuring that passionate individuals can join us in creating a sustainable future. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
