The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Baggs, WY, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators for a fair, sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program offers immersive experiences in organic food system education without any tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage deeply with various community initiatives, such as growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting educational sessions for innovative healthcare, and maintaining local gardens. The fellowship emphasizes food and ecological literacy, empowering Fellows to support farmers markets and develop distribution networks that enhance access to nutritious food. Over a six-month residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows receive hands-on training before leading impactful community projects alongside regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year. Applications are open until March each year, with the experience running from May to October.
