About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Byron, WY, is dedicated to fostering a more just and sustainable food system by empowering emerging leaders through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. This fellowship allows participants to engage deeply with organic food systems education, focusing on social, environmental, and economic justice. Fellows benefit from a six-month residential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they cultivate diverse crops, facilitate community gardens, and teach vital food and ecological literacy within local schools. Additionally, during their Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and implement innovative health care education. Importantly, AMI eliminates tuition fees to ensure that all aspiring advocates can participate, building a stronger network of food advocates in the community and beyond. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically unfolding from May to October.
