About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Cokeville, WY, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, part of the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to cultivating leaders who champion a fair and sustainable food system. Our Fellowship empowers participants through hands-on training in organic food systems while promoting accessibility with no tuition fees. During their six-month immersive experience at our campus, Fellows learn to grow and distribute a variety of crops on a market-style farm, conduct educational workshops for innovative health care, and develop community gardens. They gain vital skills in food and ecological literacy that they can share in local schools, support farmers markets, and create channel distribution systems that enhance access to healthy food options. Following their Fellowship, participants engage in a Community Action Year, allowing them to apply their acquired knowledge and skills with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted annually, with interested candidates encouraged to apply by March to commence their transformative journey from May to October.
