The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Fe Warren Afb, WY, empowers aspiring advocates and teachers to promote a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers an invaluable experience in organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Throughout a unique six-month program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in hands-on training focused on growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational health initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food literacy in schools. This fellowship encourages a strong connection to local communities, allowing Fellows to enhance access to healthy food through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, support community food coalitions, and ultimately mentor future Fellows in their journey toward creating sustainable food solutions. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences running from May to October.
