About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Fort Washakie, WY, we are dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. By sponsoring and training our Fellows, we provide a unique opportunity for them to immerse themselves in organic food system education without the burden of tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Our program encourages hands-on learning and collaboration with community partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, maintain school and community gardens, and promote food literacy in educational settings. Our Fellows also support local farmers markets and develop vital distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods while engaging with community food coalitions. After completing a six-month, experiential residency at our farm, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to apply their skills in meaningful ways. Applications are accepted until March each year for the program running from May to October, and we invite passionate individuals to join us in contributing to the vitality of our local food systems.
