The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Lander, WY, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates and teachers committed to establishing a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program provides comprehensive organic food system education to empower fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, facilitate innovative healthcare educational sessions, and maintain community gardens. Our fellows integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, and help develop distribution channels to ensure equitable access to healthy foods. With no tuition fees, we promote accessibility and inclusivity within our fellowship. Participants engage in a six-month experiential training at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their skills in real-world settings. Interested individuals can apply by March of the application year, with experiences generally taking place from May through October.
