The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Medicine Bow, WY, fosters a new generation of leaders committed to creating a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants through comprehensive organic food system education, all at no cost to promote accessibility. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, including growing and distributing diversified crops, maintaining community gardens, organizing educational health sessions, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, they support local farmers markets and develop distribution channels to increase access to healthy foods. Over a six-month immersive program followed by a Community Action Year, selected individuals collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
