About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sundance, WY, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program offers a tuition-free, six-month experiential training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows gain hands-on education in organic food systems. Throughout their journey, Fellows learn to cultivate and distribute diversified crops, lead community garden initiatives, conduct educational sessions on health and nutrition, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local schools. Additionally, they actively participate in supporting farmers markets, enhancing access to healthy foods, and mentoring future cohorts. After this immersive experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year to implement their training and collaborate with regional non-profits, fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
