About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Superior, WY, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system through hands-on education and community engagement. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers an impactful, tuition-free program that empowers Fellows with knowledge in organic food systems. Throughout the six-month experiential training at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, Virginia, participants gain practical skills in growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing community health initiatives, maintaining gardens, and fostering food literacy in local schools. In addition to building essential expertise, Fellows engage in initiatives to support farmers markets, develop innovative distribution channels, and mentor incoming cohorts. Following their training, Fellows will embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their learning in meaningful ways. Applications are accepted until March for an enriching experience from May to October.
