About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Upton, WY, is dedicated to cultivating passionate advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through hands-on training and mentorship at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in comprehensive organic food system education, which empowers them to implement community-based initiatives such as diversified crop production, health-focused educational sessions, and the establishment of sustainable gardens in schools and communities. Our Fellows play a crucial role in enhancing food access by developing distribution channels, supporting farmers markets, and promoting food literacy. Committed to accessibility, we offer this transformative experience tuition-free, ensuring that passionate individuals can participate without financial barriers. The Fellowship consists of a six-month immersive experience, followed by a Community Action Year, allowing graduates to apply their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
