About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wheatland, WY, is dedicated to cultivating leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This enriching program empowers selected Fellows through hands-on training in organic agriculture, food literacy, and community engagement without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring advocates. During the six-month experiential residency at Allegheny Farm, Fellows learn to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm and are given opportunities to implement innovative health education sessions, maintain community gardens, and support local farmers' markets. Following their residency, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year where they actively apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits to enhance food access and education throughout the community. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience typically taking place from May to October.
