It could mean that he has finally realized his mistakes and is now wanting to get back to you to make up from his faults and perhaps still save what's left in your (supposedly) relationship. On the other hand, it could mean that he was trying to get back to you because he has nowhere to go to and for whatever reason he made to break up with you didn't make him go anywhere near better. Lastly, it could mean that he's trying to get advantage of you because he is hopeful that you're still harboring your feelings for him. Just be cautious. Take care of your heart. :)
