Any decision that can affect the other should always be discussed together. It's ok to have different needs and wishes, as long as you're able to find a compromise that works for both and doesn't make either of you too uncomfortable. Maybe your partner can come out to some people that are not likely to talk about it with people that you don't want to know. You can discuss it together, but remember, you should never come out to anyone unless that's what you really want to do. If on the long run it becomes too much of a sacrifice for your partner to wait for you to come out, they'll let you know. But in the meantime, walk together and do your best to find a compromise that is not too much of a burden for either of you.
