not always, sometimes depression is just there and you dont know the reason/ cause. usually the reason is hidden and you may have to dig a little deeper to find it.

It doesn't. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. While it's true that some groups of people (women, chronically ill, etc) could be more receptive for depression, depression doesn't look at age, color, wealth etc. It's just there. Anyone can get it, just like the flu. But because it's something mental instead of physical, that is hard to understand for some people. That's why it's important to address the current stigma on depression. Just because someone is young and has a roof above their head, doesn't mean they can't be unhappy. You can have it all, and still have depression.
