It is not strange that you do not want to have anything to do with the birth family that abused you and or neglected you. That is a normal response of the brain. I can relate to what you are saying, as I was adopted, and they were abusive. No it is not wrong to feel as you do. All children deserve to feel wanted and be allowed to be a child. Unfortiuily your parents had baggage and may have been abused, and they take it out on their children out of not knowing any other way. They may have done the best that they could—however no excuses for their bad treatment in no means.
I am glad that you now have a caring family now/ You deserve to be treated as a precious gift. Take care, and know that you have no reason to feel guilty about feeling the way you do about your birth parents.â¤ï¸
